Welcome to The Outsiders Book Study Self-Paced Class! In this class, we will venture back to the 1960s and look at life from the perspective of a society very different than ours. The Greasers and Socs are rival gangs, Paul Newman is the envy of every boy and makes all the girls starry-eyed. A tough, honest look at life in a gang and the realities of life on “the wrong side of the tracks”. Students will not only read the book in this class, but will tasked with exploring stereotypes, examining characteristics in themselves and others, exploring their own ideas about events in the story, exploring the idea of lost innocence, to name a few.
